About Us: You'll be working in the Adult Public Health Team within the Health and Care Directorate. Our team is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the county's public health responsibilities, spanning the three domains of public health:
1. Health Improvement
2. Supportive Communities
3. Health Protection
We provide specialist input, technical expertise, and leadership for a range of programme areas, working 'upstream' to prevent ill health and enable good health and wellbeing. Our focus is on reducing health inequities and achieving the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for all of Staffordshire's residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reducing health inequalities across the system.
2. Leading the Warmer Homes programme and Partnership Board.
3. Implementing government-funded Warmer Homes schemes.
4. Integrating work programmes and funding with partners, including the NHS and local councils.
5. Embedding health impact assessments within policies and programmes.
6. Seeking sustainable funding opportunities.
Join our Supportive Communities team to build community assets, connect people to local help and support, and keep people independent for longer. This senior management role involves:
1. Co-designing and co-producing communication resources and campaigns with partners and communities.
2. Maximising opportunities for digital and non-digital support.
3. Ensuring accessible information, advice, and guidance.
4. Collaborating with stakeholders to keep resources up to date.
5. Implementing the Healthy Ageing Action Plan.
6. Measuring the impact of the Supportive Communities programme.
For these roles you'll have:
1. Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
2. Minimum of 3 years of strategy or commissioning experience in a relevant field.
3. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
4. Strategic thinking and strong programme management skills.
5. Commitment to community engagement and co-production.
6. Ability to build and sustain partnerships.
7. High level of personal drive and integrity.
