(8de00e64) Female Care Assistant for 27-year-old lady in Shildon with long-term health condition. P/T @ £12.00 per hour. This is a temporary position to be discussed in further detail on interest. Up to 16.5 hours per week (negotiable with client). Health Condition:Client suffers with Dysautonomia and PoTS (postural tachycardia syndrome) which
effects her nervous system. Variety of symptoms are triggered by environmental factors such as heat and noise, cognition factors such as working, emotional factors such as stress or over-excitement, and physical factors such as exertion and cold/flu.Syndrome, meaning client has a group of symptoms, but her main symptoms are intolerance to maintaining standing position and extreme fatigue.
Client’s mobility has been affected, she is only able to mobilise short distance, wheelchair required for longer distance. Any type of activity leaves her feeling fatigued to which she is unable to carry out tasks. Client has recently returned to work which is triggering her symptoms and needs support to be able to continue to work. Client statement: “I love being out in nature, I used to do a lot of hiking, outdoor activities and camping! I also love being girly, I’m interested in fashion, hair and skin-care. I enjoy charity shopping, going to cafès and exploring new places. I’m naturally independent, and don’t like to ask for help, but this is essential to maintain proper pacing, so carer’s initiative is a must. I often look and come across as totally fine, so it’s hard for people to see that I’m unwell and need help, I’m looking for someone who will understand my condition and support me even on good days so that with your help, I may have more good days, have good wellbeing, and continue to be able to work.”Key Responsibilities: Include, but not exhaustive to:· Undertake personal care tasks, such as help with showering, hair washing, and dressing, all the while promoting dignity and respect at all times.· Meal and drink preparation to manage and maintain nutrition, salt and fluid intake.· Perform domestic tasks such as general household cleaning duties, including laundry, hoovering and other cleaning tasks as and when required. · Help client with mobility as needed, transporting from one location to another with a wheelchair.· Supply social support, encouragement, and companionship by engaging in activities, such as baking, visiting places, taking walks, board games, pamper days etc.· Support for maintaining health, safety and well-being. · Support in accessing and engaging in work.Person specification:We are looking for a candidate that shares the clients values and...· Has a positive understanding towards invisible disabilities· Has a genuine interest in supporting the client remain at work · has a high degree of initiative · Is punctual and reliable · Has a happy, positive and caring nature· Full driver’s licence preferred, but not essential· No experience essential· Flexible. Hours to be arranged flexibly for when the client has plans, but hours will be needed on mornings, evenings and weekends. No weekday day shifts.
