We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support and maintain the equipment, utilities and facilities across Adaptimmune’ Laboratories and GMP manufacturing facilities at Milton Park, Abingdon. Reporting to the Director, Engineering & Facilities this position will have a key role in supporting the facility operations in all aspects of GMP / GLP maintenance, calibration, and repair. Key Responsibilities Carry out preventative maintenance & repairs to facility plant and process utilities including - AHUs, chillers, boilers, BMS, FMS / EMS, medical gasses, water plant, BSCs, isolators, bioreactors, incubators, centrifuge, etc. Support and oversee contractor activities as needed for the completion of preventative maintenance and calibration work. Escort contractors, witness calibration & maintenance activities ensuring documentation is completed at the time of service. The role will require a good working knowledge of the following H&S requirements - PTW, RAMS, SSW, LOTO, COSHH Ensure all documentation, records and logbooks are completed in compliance with Adaptimmune SOPs, cGMP, statutory and regulatory guidelines. Assist with the creation and revision of engineering/facilities SOPs, events, non-conformance, and deviation investigations. Carry out Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPA) and support timely closure of facility related GMP deficiencies including audit observations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and deviations as required. Active and effective communicator. Assist in the reporting and remediation of accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions as required or observed. Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with other departments. Provide technical support to all departments across other sites as required. Assist with identification and control of critical spare parts and stand-by equipment needed to assure maximum capacity and reliability. Qualifications & Experience Technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation engineering or equivalent with in role experience. Hand on experience maintaining GMP cleanrooms, GLP laboratory environments. Familiarity with GMP calibration and maintenance of bioprocessing equipment. Familiar with building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing practices. Relevant experience from regulated environments will be considered. Desirable Experience in a sterile/aseptic Pharmaceutical manufacturing Experience with Quality Management systems processes Additional Details: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required gain access safely and operate tools and systems. The employee will be required to work 40 hours a week and some overtime / weekend work may be required. In addition, employee is subject to on-call requirements to meet the business’s needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to loud, appropriate PPE will be provided.
