Your primary focus will be the outpatient and surgical management of complex Otology and lateral skull base conditions. You will be a member of the ENT team and of the Skull base team (with colleagues in allied specialties of Neurosurgery, Oncology, OMF surgery, plastics etc). The post is based at principally at Southampton General hospital with some Outpatient clinical activity in the Royal South Hants Hospital.
Responsibilities include the management of in-patients, outpatient clinics, attendance at Multidisciplinary Team (MDTs) meetings, administration, teaching, educational and clinical supervision, service development, participation in the ENT on-call rota, which is shared with, and covers, Winchester Hospital and Salisbury Hospital.
You will be working with internal and external clinicians to grow and develop the model of care across the region to ensure the service is responsive to the needs of the local and regional population.

Applicants should have a CCT. The candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have received training in Otology and lateral skull base surgery such as having undertaken a period of Fellowship training.
This is a 1 year fixed term locum consultant post and that the trust is strongly committed to appointing a substantive post in the future.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their competence to communicate in spoken and written English.
Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that candidates should provide confirmation of this from the relevant College or Faculty in the United Kingdom and attach the confirmation to your application.
