This is a key post within the Carlisle Southern Link Road team. The team is directly responsible for the management of this £225m project over the next 2 years. The team also interacts with and provides support to other areas of the Council involved in delivering Capital Projects and aims to set a benchmark for good practice that can be rolled out across wider teams.
About the role:
The Workstream Project Manager (WPM) will be accountable for managing and coordinating strategic interfaces across the team structure and with Network Rail, National Highways, Utilities, Land and Legal, and Communication work streams. In addition, the WPM will need to work closely with the principal contractor, the client project team, and other key internal departments within Cumberland Council. The WPM will be responsible for line managing several external consultants and internal team members. A full driving licence is required for this post.
Who we are looking for:
Will work closely across all the project workstreams and other team members and senior management. Provide strategic direction to the wider team. Make timely decisions, good effective communicator with stakeholders and customers. Preferably experience in Highways, managing Land owners and their Land Agents. Preferable experience in NEC contracts and experience of managing internal teams effectively. Adapt into the role recognizing we may need to support and develop you into this role.
