Qualified Social Worker
Foster and Adoption
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £33 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a Foster and Adoption Team. As part of this dedicated team, you will be working in a busy and supportive environment where you will recruit, assess, prepare, and train prospective carers and adopters to meet the specific needs of children in accordance with legal requirements and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake assessments of prospective carers through individual visits, preparation training, and completion of reports.
2. Provide prompt and responsive support to carers and prospective adopters.
3. Participate in the regular review of family placements, agreeing on the purpose and tasks of placements and the roles and responsibilities of all parties.
4. Assist carers in facilitating contact between children/young people and their birth families.
5. Support in the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services.
6. Make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions.
7. Establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies.
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
1. Qualification as a Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Experience in working with children and families, including those from vulnerable groups.
3. Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
4. Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
5. Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families.
6. Commitment to providing a high-quality service.
7. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis.
8. 4 years plus of qualified experience.
In this role, you will:
1. Make full assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
2. Manage an agreed caseload.
3. Devise individual care plans, promoting dignity and empowerment.
4. Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist in their development.
