Job summary
Occupational Health Departments are based at both Ipswich and Colchester Hospital, specialising in the prevention and management of work-related health issues. We are looking to recruit a Full Time Clinic Nurse to join the team working across ESNEFT and customer sites.
To be considered for this role it is essential you are a Registered Nurse. It is beneficial if you have Occupational Health or Practice Nurse experience but is not essential as full training will be provided.
There is a full induction into this role through a period of supervised practice and developing your competence and confidence through a programme of Occupational Health specific competencies.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work confidently and collaboratively across professional boundaries, both within the team and with our clients. Knowledge and experience of using an IT information management system for record keeping.
Main duties of the job
In this position you will help in preventing problems with health and well-being, promoting healthy living and working conditions, assessing and managing workplace risks, and health screening.
Your duties will include pre placement screening, needle stick management, immunisations and venepuncture, as well as being involved in the duty nurse which is available daily for support and help. As clients' needs require you may also be required to carry out audiometry, eye tests, urine samples, lung function tests and drug tests.

1. Experience of working autonomously in a busy multi-disciplinary environment
2. Broad range of general nursing experience.
3. Good IT skills and should be computer literate and with a working knowledge of Microsoft office systems
4. Evidence of team work

5. Experience in Occupational Health in NHS &/or commercial environment
6. Experience in a clinic setting
7. Experience of basic counselling techniques and skills.
