What is the job?
As a Project Manager you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of the development strategy. You will work with the leadership of the commercial and development teams to provide a formal project management function across all strategic development projects including asset development, diversification & new business, marketing and, advocacy to ensure the business delivers its strategic development plan.
Acting as the bridge between the project owners, project teams, consultees, project sponsors, external stakeholders, and the leadership of Commercial function the role to ensure effective performance, communication, and collaboration. Moreover, playing a crucial role in risk management, ensuring programme completion with minimal disruption to the organisation’s business as usual performance.
This role will become vital in delivering a Programme of development and improvement projects that will ensure the success and growth of our organisation.
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and drive planning, scheduling, tracking, monitoring, and reporting for your projects.
* Producing professional Project documentation and progress graphics for the board, executives, and owners. (Gantt, KPI’s, Risk Register, Post completion performance etc.)
* Support the preparation of the business plans and project budgets based on the initial defined parameters and objectives.
* Ensure project governance, and proactively drive project risks, change and dependencies to conclusion.
* Have strong organisational skills, a can-do approach and be a collaborative member of the Business Development team.
* Work closely with project teams and functional groups such as Legal, HSEQ, Finance, Procurement, Transport and Production etc. Ensuring regular reporting to internal stakeholders and consultees.
* Intentionally engage to develop and improve our Project Management processes and practices to form standardised best practice.
* Chair and minute Project Meetings through the lifecycle.
* Build bespoke project teams, with technical and risk committees to agree scope and handover criteria.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* Project Management Qualification
* Leading project delivery.
* Familiarity with the ‘Development’ Project Lifecycles. (Concept, Business case, Justification, Scope build, Delivery)
* Persuasive communication and networking skills to be able to influence and collaborate with internal departments, senior management, and Board of Directors.
* Excellent reporting and administration skills
* Management of subcontractors
* A positive, can-do attitude which is adaptive to change, resilient and eager to accept new challenges within a fast-paced delivery environment. You will need to be a problem solver and a creative thinker.
* Ability to analyse technical and commercial aspects of developments and apply solutions in terms of time, cost, quality, and best use of available resources.
* Proficient in the application of standard Microsoft Office tools Word, Excel, Power Point, Project etc.
Desirable
* Usage of supporting tools commonly used in project and programme management e.g., Confluence, MS Project, P6 etc
* Project Controls experience
* Cost control experience
* Experience in the management and control of Health and Safety e.g., complete Risk Assessments Method Statements
* Experience managing external consultants
