I am an 80 year old man living in the Baglan area with my family.
I enjoy a chat and am looking for a COVER PA from 14th to 21st April. This is to keep me company at home, encourage and motivate me to get up out of bed, and support me with washing, dressing, cleaning my teeth and shaving. I have dementia so the PA will need to be patient and understanding.
Purpose
Motivate and encourage me with getting up out of bed
Support me with washing, dressing, shaving and cleaning my teeth
Provide a sitting service and keep me company at home to give my family a break.
Person Type
A person who:
Is very understanding and patient
Experience of working with individuals with dementia would be advantageous. Training can be provided.
is trustworthy, reliable and punctual
is friendly and chatty
respects my privacy and confidentiality
will treat me with dignity and respect
Hours
25.5 hours from 14th to 21st April to be used as follows:
11am to 12:30 - for 1.5 hours daily to support with personal care.
9pm to 10pm - for 1 hour daily to support with personal care and getting ready for bed.
12:30 to 4.30pm on a Monday and Thursday to keep me company at home as a sitting service. These days can be flexible.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
