An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Spelthorne Borough Council as a Supported Housing Manager, overseeing two supported housing facilities in Ashford, Surrey.
THE ROLE
As Supported Housing Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery and management of the Housing and Support Service, supporting residents with complex needs and leading a small team.
Oversee referrals, assessments, tenancy sign-ups, and manage tenancy breaches
Deliver one-to-one support to a caseload of residents, helping them achieve personal goals
Provide effective team management through supervision, training, and performance reviews
Ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and regularly inspected
Manage rent collection, liaise with benefits and finance teams, and address arrears
Lead safeguarding responses and represent the service at multi-agency meetings
Facilitate resident engagement events and respond professionally to complaints and incidents
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a managerial role within a housing and support setting, ideally supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
Proven ability to manage housing services, support teams, and work independently
Strong knowledge of the benefits system, safeguarding, and landlord/tenant law
Excellent communication and administrative skills, including report writing
Experience of liaising with external agencies and attending court if required
Confident in managing challenging situations and providing holistic resident support
THE CONTRACT
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
3-month contract, covering the permanent recruitment process
The pay range for the role is £20.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate.
The PAYE equivalent is £17.05 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
