The purpose of the position is to provide blasting operative services to clients including preparation of materials and equipment, application of product ensuring a world class service whilst raising the company’s presence within the industry.
Role specific responsibilities
1. Setting up of blasting equipment
2. Ensuring all materials are processed safely
3. Preparing surfaces to approved standards in order that items can be painted
4. Following strict safety regulations covering the use of potentially hazardous materials
5. Carry out visual inspections of completed blasted items
6. Liaise with administrator regarding queries on paperwork of jobs processed
7. Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager
Job Specific Education Required
1. Train the Painter, iCATs or NACE Certified Coating Applicator trained – preferred but training can be given.
2. Counterbalance Forklift Truck license – desirable, training will be provided
3. Overhead crane trained – desirable, training will be provided
Work Experience Required:
1. Blasting experience - essential
2. Factory based experience with broad product knowledge i.e., blast media etc. – essential
3. Experience of working to industry standards - essential
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Able to work independently and on own initiative
2. Comfortable in a customer facing situation and able to represent the company in all environments
3. Good communication skills, able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels and to generate clear and accurate reports detailing actions taken and recommended future actions
4. Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own time efficiently
