PASTORAL MANAGER VACANCY – JOB SHARE OPPORTUNITY (Permanent position)
Required for an individual Year Group (Year 8)
Please Note: The individual Year Group may change at the end of any given academic year.
Working Pattern: 20 hours per week, term time + 5 staff training days/twilights (*pro-rota based on working hours)
The working pattern commitment for this role will be Wed 12pm – 4pm / Thur 8am – 4pm / Fri 8am – 5pm.
Salary: Kent Range 7 (£12,437 actual starting salary (£26,515 full time equivalent, based on 52 weeks per year).
Start Date: January 2025
St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School is seeking to recruit an experienced, hardworking, and proactive practitioner for the role of Pastoral Manager, who will be assigned to an individual Year Group (Year 8). This opportunity is a job share role, working collaboratively with our current, highly experienced Year 8 Pastoral Manager (whose working pattern is 8am to 4pm Monday to Wednesday). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student welfare and behaviour, whilst promoting a sense of personal excellence in our students.
Our new Pastoral Manager will need to be a confident, professional and approachable communicator, as he/she will be liaising with external and internal stakeholders; including staff, students, parents/carers and the wider community. The successful applicant should have good time management skills, be able to meet deadlines, be empathetic, as well as having a flexible approach to work as priorities could change at short notice. Excellent organisation and teamwork skills are vital to ensure a unified and successful job share partnership.
