Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Adult Senior Practitioner within the Ageing Well West Team to work Full Time based in Southend.
The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £49,498 per annum.
Main duties:
1. To deliver delegated statutory social care duties and responsibilities in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment and ability to implement and maintain high quality of service delivery.
2. To provide consultation, advice and support to junior staff on casework and contribute to the development of colleagues within the team and where appropriate the wider service by virtue of being a professionally senior and experienced and reliable practitioner.
3. To undertake a lead professional responsibility for some areas of social care in the day to day running of the team and supervision of team members, as required by the council and EPUT.
4. Work with the team leadership and SBC to develop and deliver practice that is underpinned by Social Work for Better Mental Health national programme.
5. To access appropriate care and support packages for people with mental health needs and/or their carers, following SBC Panel processes, policies and procedures.
6. To ensure that casework reflects the Council’s statutory responsibilities in relation to Personalisation, Safeguarding, Carers, Housing, etc.
7. To be familiar with Equal Opportunities good practice and the Council requirements for diversity and to implement this in all aspects of working practice and promote it in the team, workplace and wider organisation.
8. To ensure that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the Council’s policies and procedures.
9. To identify service enhancements and support the culture of continuous improvement.
10. To recommend expenditure within strict criteria and policy, and always follow best value principle.
11. To represent the team, group or department on working parties and at other meetings as required.
12. To ensure the Team Manager is kept fully appraised of problems arising from workload and seek advice as and when necessary.
13. To supervise social workers as required and to deputise for the Team Manager in all or some of their functions as required to their absence.
Requirements of this Senior Practitioner role:
1. A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Relevant Social Work experience.
