Position: Laser Machine Operator Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire Working Hours: Rotating shifts – 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 (Monday to Friday) Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour - £15.75 per hour (based on experience) Employment Type: Permanent Benefits: Profit Share Scheme, Multi-Skilled Bonus (£1/hr extra), Overtime Pay Premiums, 30 Days Holiday (Including Bank Holidays), Enhanced Sick Pay, Healthcare Plan, Group Life Cover, Clear Career Progression Structure, Training & Upskilling Opportunities, Internal Promotion Opportunities, Cycle to Work Scheme Your Role as a Laser Operator: Operate laser cutting machinery to produce sheet metal components with precision Set up and adjust machines, ensuring correct settings for each job Read and interpret engineering drawings to maintain accuracy Conduct quality checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, verniers, micrometers) Load and unload raw and finished materials by operating a fork lift counterbalance truck (an in house license and training to be provided) Identify and correct cutting errors to ensure minimal material waste Work with various metals, including stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following company health & safety policies Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshooting when required What You Need to Succeed: Experience operating CNC or laser cutting machines (Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, or similar) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately Experience performing quality control checks using precision measuring tools Strong attention to detail, technical competence, and problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and as part of a team Although not essential, previous experience of operating a forklift counterbalance truck would be an advantage (if not, training will be required) Willingness to work rotating shifts (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00) Why Choose This Role?
