Role Overview:
Part time | 15 hours per week | 2 days per week | 7.5 hrs per day – Tuesday & Wednesday | Working hours between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm | £11.44 per hour.

You’ll play a key role in maximising sales and Gift Aid contributions while helping to reduce costs and minimise waste going to landfill. Main duties and responsibilities
* Deliver high levels of customer service at all times.
* Thank all donors and offer every donor the opportunity to register for Gift Aid on stock or cash donations.
* Efficiently book in and sort stock donations, minimising rag and waste.
* Store donations, rags, and waste safely, ensuring that Gift Aided donations are clearly labelled and prioritised.
* Ensure the safe and secure disposal of rag and waste, checking for saleable items.
* Record all donations and process stock donations efficiently in line with KEMP guidelines.
* Process all Gift Aided donations as a priority, in line with HMRC and KEMP policy.
* Support the manager in running the Donation Centre and Furniture Shop, booking collections and deliveries as required.
* Support the manager in ensuring a well-presented, full, and clean shop.
* Support the manager in delivering in-store promotions, events, and shop floor layout changes to maximise income.
* Accurately complete customer transactions on EPOS, end-of-day processes, and banking.
* Support the manager in growing income by offering Lottery tickets for sale, participating in fundraising initiatives, and identifying high-value/unusual items for eBay.
* Take all reasonable steps to reduce costs and minimise waste.
* Support the manager in ensuring all legal, Health & Safety, and security requirements are met, maintaining safe working practices.
* Work with all KEMP staff and volunteers to ensure the shop offers a friendly and welcoming environment to everyone.
* Support the manager with the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers.
* Work flexibly across the trading week to support KEMP Retail and van drivers.
* Undertake training and attend meetings as required.
* Positively promote and enhance the work of KEMP by engaging with donors and customers.
* Fulfill agreed additional or alternative duties as deemed necessary.
