About the company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of one of the world's leading mobility technology companies, based in Coventry, who are seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the process for powertrain control requirements development.
2. Design, simulate, implement, debug, test and research control and estimation algorithms for various electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems in powertrain systems.
3. Engage with suppliers and other stakeholders to review hardware and software attributes.
4. Develop energy management/torque management Software and Controls for electric/hybrid/ICE powertrains.
Skills Required:
1. Engineering/Science Degree (or equivalent).
2. Automotive engineering knowledge/experience in design and validation for electrified powertrain systems.
3. Experience of automotive control systems software development, data logging and calibration tools.
4. Proficient in MS office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
6. Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team.
7. Driving license valid for driving in the UK.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in electrified powertrain area.
2. Knowledge in machine learning, AI algorithms and predictive control systems.
3. A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols CANFD, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet.
4. Awareness of ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
5. Experience with Vector (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape) and MathWorks tools (e.g. MatLab/Simulink) or equivalent.
6. Ability to work in an Agile work environment.
7. Project Management.
