Sites Contracts Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will manage and execute engineering projects from concept through to completion. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to deliver mechanical engineering solutions that meet client expectations and company goals. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that designs are functional, efficient, and cost-effective, while meeting safety standards and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organising kick off meetings for new project assignments with the sales team.
2. Assessing the contracts and project requirements for materials, Labour, plant hire, tools and consumables.
3. Liaising with the design team for drawings, P&ID’s and code standards and specifications related with the project/ contract.
4. Organisation and planning of scheduled Labour for each contract and project.
5. Dealing with any sub-contract companies within the supply chain to support the projects and contracts.
6. Recruiting any sub-contract Labour to assist projects throughout peak times.
7. Conducting regular site visits to support the site team and supervisors.
8. Ensuring all tradesmen and contractors are competent for the task at hand and checking they hold a valid certificate.
9. Completing regular method statements and risk assessments for the projects.
10. Instructing direct work force and tradesmen and setting goals and tasks for the team to achieve to meet deadlines.
11. Overseeing site works projects from start to completion, whilst checking work is carried out safely at all times.
12. Motivate and in some cases discipline staff/ tradesmen.
13. Complete reports for clients on completion of a project.
14. Organisation of H&S files, CCP’s and ITP’s.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Reviewing and signing off timesheets for staff and sub-contractors.
2. Reviewing and signing off supply chain invoices related to the project.
3. Assisting with timescales for Estimates at quotation stages.
4. Site visits and gaining good rapport with Clients.
5. Placing orders with suppliers/ organizing tools and equipment for site works.
6. Assist project engineers to plan the site works.
7. Developing personal skills and providing professional recommendations for changes to site activities or procedures to boost efficiency.
Job Requirements:
1. Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - *but not necessary*
2. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors. Good knowledge and experience of working on construction engineering sites.
3. Work experience or Apprenticeship in Fabrication/ Engineering.
Soft Skills:
1. Able to work well with others and part of a team.
2. Excellent verbal communication skills.
3. Able to work well on your own – good initiative.
4. Flexible on work tasks.
5. Understanding and considerate – Patience with staff.
6. Good use of computer – Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Project and Outlook.
7. Certifications: SMSTS or IOSH/NEBOSH.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, and the ability to work flexible hours based on project demands.

1. £50,000 - £60,000 Salary.
