To provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to children and young people and families with complex and severe mental health problems. Clinically, the post-holder will be responsible for individual case management and will be expected to conduct highly specialist psychological assessments, produce highly complex formulations, and deliver direct therapeutic work. They will also provide specialist advice and consultation to a range of multiagency professionals and non-professional carers, and utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention of clients referred to CAMHS.
* Provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance, training and consultation to others across a wide range of agencies and settings where appropriate.
* Work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex and potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
* Supervise and manage the workload of Band 7 Applied Psychologists, Assistant and Trainee Clinical Psychologists, within the framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
* Utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence-based practice in individual work and with other team members.
* Contribute to the team meetings and the effective operation of CAMHS.
* Demonstrate familiarity with the principles of child protection procedures and legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.
* Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.
* Promote best practice in health and safety.
* Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights.
* Collect, collate and report both routine and complex data and information relating to the performance of CAMHS.
