Salary: BG3 £23,656 FTE (Actual: £10,936)
Contract: Fixed term contract – linked with absence of named employee, potential for permanent post.
Working pattern: 20 hours per week, 9:45-13:45 Monday-Friday, term time only (38 weeks + holiday pay included).

Responsible for: No line management responsibilities

About the Role:
As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality food and a positive dining experience in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Working closely with the School Kitchen Manager and Trust Catering Manager, your duties will range from food preparation and service to maintaining the hygiene and safety of the catering area.
This role is fixed term in the first instance, linked with the absence of a named employee but there is a strong likelihood of a permanent post becoming available.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare dining and service areas, including setup and cleaning.
Cook and serve delicious, nutritious dishes to standard recipes.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards.
Keep accurate records to ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP regulations.
Provide support at nearby Trust schools when required.
Continuously improve through training and development opportunities.

Food hygiene certificate (Level 2 or equivalent).
Experience in a professional culinary setting.
Understanding of allergen legislation and food standards for schools.
Interest in children’s nutrition and healthy eating.
