Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chorley. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering valuable experience for those considering a career in educational psychology, mental health support, or teaching.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
* Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning strategies
* Help manage challenging behaviours and support pupils’ emotional well-being
* Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
* A degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Education, or a related field
* A strong understanding of SEMH and additional learning needs
* Confidence in building relationships with young people
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Previous experience in education, youth work, or mental health support is desirable but not essential
