We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly, GP Training Practice in the Leyburn, which serves a population of approximately 6,000 patients. Our supportive team empowers Advanced Nurse Practitioners to work to the full extent of their education and training and in time there maybe opportunity to manager our nursing team. We are ideally looking for someone 24-32 hours a week over 3/4 days however we are open to other suggestions subject to room availability. Main duties of the job Provide a holistic approach to healthcare, drawing from both nursing and medical models or health and illness where appropriate to screen for the early signs of disease and diagnose acute problems. Demonstrate knowledge of the pathophysiology of acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in practice. Undertake independent and autonomous assessment of undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Use sound judgement in assessing conflicting priorities and needs. Formulate a diagnosis utilising medical diagnostic problem-solving skills including history taking, physical examination, invasive and non-invasive procedures/investigations. Initiate appropriate diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions. Interpret and evaluate diagnostic test results in liaison with the patient and their GP and initiates treatment accordingly. There are 3 partners and 3 salaried GPs who are supported by clinical pharmacist, nursing, dispensary and practice support teams.
