Job Summary
East Dunbartonshire Council are looking to appoint a Trainee cultural assistant as part of a Scottish Government funded work experience programme.
Candidate should have an understanding of a good work ethic. The role involves working as part of the FM library team, reporting to the team leader, providing front line library duties, providing an efficient and effective service, including stock circulation and maintenance, the operation of the computerised management systems and other procedures relevant to the running of Cultural Services.
They should have a genuine interest and use this opportunity to gain essential experience. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. The preferred candidate will be required to be a member of the disclosure Scheme.
This is a temporary role for 6 months for those who are parents with dependent children with barriers to employment or unemployed for 12 months or more with barriers to employment. Vacancies conditional dependant on Funding.

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act,, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
East Dunbartonshire Council will meet the cost of the check.
