Crampton & Moore is a family business operating in the electrical retailer sector with local stores and a large online operation. We have an impressive Superstore at our headquarters in Catcliffe, Rotherham and due to an increase in sales we are now looking for a Deputy Store Manager to join our friendly team.
Position Overview:
As Deputy Store Manager you will support the Store Manager overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing the sales team, and ensuring the store meets its sales targets and provides exceptional standards of customer service. You will play a key role in driving sales, maintaining inventory and creating a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help oversee all aspects of store operations including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, visual merchandising and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
2. Help set sales targets and monitor performance metrics of the sales team. Provide coaching, guidance and training to team members to achieve and exceed sales goals. Motivate and incentivize the team to drive sales growth.
3. Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service at all times. Train and empower the sales team to provide product knowledge, address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and satisfactorily.
4. Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping. Collaborate with suppliers and the purchasing team to maintain appropriate stock levels and optimize product assortment.
5. Create visually appealing displays, effectively showcase products and enhance the overall store ambiance. Ensure displays are regularly updated and follow company guidelines and seasonal promotions.
6. Analyze sales data, generate reports and provide insights to senior management regarding sales performance, customer trends and product preferences. Make data-driven decisions to optimize sales strategies and drive business growth.
7. Help recruit, train and develop a high-performing sales team. Schedule shifts, allocate resources effectively and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet customer demands. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and implement corrective actions when necessary.
8. Establish and maintain strong relationships with Brands and suppliers, monitor product quality and delivery and collaborate on marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers. Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures and security measures.
10. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities. Identify opportunities for growth, potential threats and implement strategies to stay ahead in the market.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence with responsibility for all store operations.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.
* Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building customer loyalty and satisfaction.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive sales performance and operational efficiency.
* Sound knowledge of inventory management, visual merchandising and retail sales techniques.
* Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software and other retail-related tools.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, employees and stakeholders.
* The position will cover all of the stores trading hours working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis which will include Saturdays/Sundays.
What We Offer:
* Hourly rate for this position will be £12.30 plus the commission/bonus structure currently in place. Expected achievable earnings in the first year should be in the region of £29,000.
