CDR Consultancy is recruiting for a Consultant to join the team! As a leading strategic communications consultancy, we specialise in financial and corporate communications, investor relations, and media engagement, working with high-profile clients across a range of industries.
The ideal candidate will already have some strategic communications experience and will play a key role in managing client accounts and driving impactful results. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is proactive, and has a keen interest in media, current affairs, and financial markets.
The day to day
Account Management & Execution: Support the day-to-day running of multiple client accounts, ensuring clarity on responsibilities, leading internal meetings, and managing client calls. Allocate, supervise, and review the work of Analysts and Interns.
Strategic & Commercial Understanding: Develop an understanding of how scopes of work and fees are structured to support client relationships effectively.
Media & Research Support:
* Prepare briefing notes for clients on journalists, sell-side analysts, events, and project opportunities.
* Conduct research and draft speaking notes for client engagements.
* Oversee daily press coverage, media intelligence, and industry analysis for clients and new business targets.
Content Development:
* Draft LinkedIn posts and website copy for clients.
* Write first drafts of op-eds and press releases.
* Manage press announcements, including media outreach and pitching.
Media Relations & Networking:
* Build relationships with junior reporters and develop media pitching skills.
* Develop a networking mindset to establish contacts beneficial to clients and the agency.
New Business Support:
* Conduct research and write briefings on prospective clients and market opportunities.
* Gather and interpret relevant media intelligence, data, and analyst research to support business development.
Team Development: Contribute to the professional growth of junior colleagues through mentoring and support.
About you
At Consultant level, you'll already have gained experience, ideally with a strategic communications consultancy. You'll be a proactive team player who takes ownership, drives results, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll all have;
* Strong communication skills – Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
* Intellectual curiosity – Keen interest in current affairs, media landscapes, and financial reporting.
* An analytical mindset – Ability to process and synthesize complex information quickly.
* Proficiency with communications platforms – databases, monitoring services and news services incl. Bloomberg, Roxhill, Factiva, Hubspot, RNS etc. )
* Organisational excellence – Strong time management skills, able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
* Professionalism – Confidence in client and journalist interactions, with a strong email and phone manner.
* Tenacity – Persistence in media outreach and delivering client results.
