Digital Content Editor Location: Belfast Salary: £34,732 Hybrid Working Initial Interim Contract - 12 Months About the Role The Digital Content Editor is responsible for publishing, managing and creating digital content for the Northern Ireland Assembly. The primary function of the role is publishing website content on behalf of the many business areas within the Assembly using the Content Management Systems that facilitate the Assembly's web presence. There is a strong emphasis on digital accessibility, therefore publishing content will require re-formatting in line with best practice and accessibility standards. The role also involves publishing to social media and assisting the Internal Communications Manager with internal newsletters and associated content for encouraging staff engagement in internal activities and initiatives. They work with the Web Content Manager and the Communications Team to deliver the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission's content plans, tracking and evaluating the performance of content against objectives. Key Responsibilities: Publish and manage content across multiple digital platforms, including the main website, intranet, and micro-sites. Ensure all content complies with accessibility standards and regulatory requirements such as GDPR. Provide training and guidance to colleagues on content management systems. Work closely with Communications Officers to develop engaging digital content for social media and awareness campaigns. Assist in filming and editing video content for internal and external audiences. Monitor web performance and provide insights on content effectiveness. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, MLAs, and external bodies. Essential Criteria: Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience criteria: Option 1: A degree (2:2 or higher) in any subject. At least two years' experience in: Content management systems (e.g., EPiServer, Umbraco, WordPress). Creating web content with accessibility in mind. Using online graphics software (e.g., Canva). Social media management. Analysing digital content performance using insights/analytics tools. Option 2: GCSEs (A-C) in four subjects, including English. At least four years' experience in the areas outlined above. Desirable Criteria (for shortlisting): A third-level qualification in Digital and/or Social Media Marketing OR demonstrable experience managing digital content across multiple channels.
