Unqualified Art Therapist:

As an art therapist working within schools, you will be working with children with needs of various complexities from SEMH to ASD, ADHD and physical disabilities. Art and creative therapies are a great way of communicating thoughts and feelings, as well as teaching students to look at problems or difficult situations differently. Art therapy has been shown to help children express themselves in a creative way, which allows them to communicate through it and take pressure off themselves. Research also suggests that art and other creative actitivies help with mental health - this is a great opportunity to work alongside children in schools to help navigate and communicate, in their own creative way.
This role will see you working 1:1 with student(s), using art to help them feel safe, settled and be able to communicate their thoughts and feelings.
You will communicate professionally to the class teacher, head teacher and parents/carers.
You will also use your creative flair, your passion for all things creative and your open mind to help support children going through difficult times.
