We are currently seeking a Senior Transport Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Heywood site on a full-time, permanent basis!
Salary:
£35,700 per annum.
Shift Pattern:
Monday-Friday, (06:00 - 14:00) and Sunday-Thursday, (13:30 - 21:30) rotating shifts.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Transport Coordinator, you will manage and oversee the Transport operation, ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained. You will plan driver and vehicle resources to meet delivery and collection times.
Key Duties:
1. Optimise resource allocation and ensure compliance with WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.
2. Sign off and oversee an effective transport plan to meet on-time delivery and collection targets.
3. Manage your own team and subcontractors to achieve delivery and collection times, creating and updating daily run summaries.
4. Communicate effectively with the Planning team, Customer Service, other depots, and directly with customers when required.
5. Monitor arrival and departure times to ensure deliveries are within specified windows.
6. Find the best solutions for customer collections, adhering to scheduled times.
7. Handle investigations and disciplinary procedures in line with company policies.
8. Log, investigate, and report all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
9. Conduct colleague reviews.
10. Plan and liaise with drivers for meetings and training courses.
Qualifications:
* Significant knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving regulations.
* Previous management or supervisory experience is desirable.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong planning and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Professional, approachable, and helpful attitude to ensure smooth operations.
* Transport experience in an FMCG environment.
