A client of ours in the Brightlingsea area is recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm (37.5 hours) and paying £27,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, key duties include but are not limited to:
1. Reconcile bank accounts daily
2. Record all sales and purchases
3. Reconcile and post weekly takings
4. Order stationery and supplies
5. Reconcile petty cash
6. Assist with monthly payroll
7. Assist with Company pension scheme (NEST)
8. Assist with maintenance of stock list and depreciation management
9. Assist with Fixed Asset record maintenance
10. Assist with reconciliation of prepayments, accruals and financial statements
11. Assist with posting monthly journals and VAT returns
12. Record annual stock take figures for year end
13. Assist with the preparation of year end accounts
14. Post all purchase invoices
15. Assist with payment of suppliers and reconcile supplier statements
16. Raise invoices
17. Send monthly statements
18. Credit control
Administrative duties include:
1. Taking bookings and dealing with enquiries
2. Dealing with customer queries and taking payments
3. Book out electrical meters and maintain customer electric records
4. Liaising with transport drivers
Skills and Experience required:
1. Previous accountancy experience
2. Ability to work to deadlines
3. Good communication skills
4. Good attention to detail
5. Proficient with MS Excel and other MS Office tools
6. Experience with Sage 50
