Due to increased productions across all genres, we are undergoing a period of significant growth. Therefore, we are recruiting for a number of roles across all departments. This position is for the Head of Department for Moving Lights and Technology based at one of our two warehouses in Goudhurst.
Job Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
1. Working with the production team, other department heads, and clients to supply appropriate lighting solutions.
2. Overseeing and actively preparing moving lights and all associated control systems for hire, including consoles, DMX buffers, nodes, and networking systems.
3. Maintaining and servicing equipment to a high standard, including PAT testing.
4. Fault finding and repair.
5. Coordinating hire stock to ensure bookings are delivered on time.
6. Managing the department’s internal stock system to ensure bookings and equipment logs remain up-to-date.
7. Ensuring all department equipment is maintained to a high standard ahead of emergency hires.
8. Supporting and advising the Directors on sourcing and purchasing new equipment.
9. Ensuring the warehouse remains efficient and organized.
10. Managing a small team of technicians.
11. Providing in-house training to junior members of the team and advising on professional off-site training as required.
Experience
This position is open to two types of applicants:
1. Fully qualified, knowledgeable, and highly experienced lighting technicians with excellent knowledge of moving lights and controls by leading brands, including Martin Professional, Vari-Lite, Robe, Clay Paky, Chauvet, Showtec, MA, ETC, Avolites, Zero88, and Hog.
2. Lighting technicians currently working within the industry and prepared to undergo professional training in order to efficiently run the department.
Please note, the salary will be reflective of the individual’s knowledge and experience of moving lights and all associated controls.

Working hours
Normal working hours are 8 am to 5 pm. However, the nature of the industry often dictates irregular working hours.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
