The role of the Maintenance Building Technician Level 2 is to provide exceptional standards of technical and practical support to ensure the smooth running of the site. In addition, Maintenance Building Technician Level 2 will be required to use their experience to work on assignments that are not always routine in nature. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at our site located in Belton, outside Loughborough. To carry out repairs and new work to the fabrication of the sites buildings. Must have experience of repairing damaged walls, hanging doors and fitting door frames and windows, interior and exterior woodwork and carrying out some small plastering repairs and painting. Be able to fit new worktops and carry out small project work. Install notice boards, whiteboards and general office and production area items. This role involves internal and external work. The ideal candidate would be able to work on their own and be very self-motivated, but also work very well in a small friendly maintenance team. As a member of a small team there is a lot of trade crossover so you must be prepared to help out on other trades as the other trades will help support you. Ideally, but not essential, you should also have some or all of the following: You will need to have some experience with computer systems as the department uses CAFM to log work and uses other software system to control documents. Basic understanding of pipework system/plumbing works, including minor repairs Basic understanding of electrical systems to include safety lighting, fault finding, minor repairs Basic understanding and repair of mechanical equipment included. Good awareness of health & safety and own technical ability Good decision making especially the ability to know when to escalate any faults/issues to management Competency in Use of Isolation & Tag Out Basic maintenance and repair of steam systems Basic maintenance of air handling plant Training will be given on the systems so you don’t need prior experience of these programs.
