We are pleased to be able to offer this exciting opportunity for a part time 30-hour post to join the team in the Emergency Department, Princess of Wales Hospital as an Emergency Department Assistant. The applicant should have experience in working within an emergency care environment. This is a rewarding role that offers clinical support to nursing and medical staff in the delivery of patient focused care. As part of this role, the successful applicant will be involved in assisting patient flow through the minor injuries area of the department. Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated in the delivery of high standards of care and in the maintenance of a safe environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a large team is essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. This exciting role includes clinical support to nursing and medical staff and also includes the distinct functions of support the navigation of patients through the minor injuries areas of the Emergency Department (ED). It is envisaged on a daily basis the post holder will be allocated to one of the roles identified below, however the post holder will be expected to work flexibly as directed by the nurse in charge of the department. The Main Function Of The EDA Role Are The provision of direct care to patients under the supervision of health care professionals. At all times ensuring that high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals. Working as a member of the ED collaborating with key individuals and departments to ensure the smooth flow of patients through the Minors area.
