Coventry Bereavement Service works tirelessly to deliver the highest possible standards of service to all bereaved families at their time of need.
We are responsible for the provision of burial across 6 cemeteries located city-wide, the management of Canley Crematorium and Gardens of Remembrance, as well as various other sundry services including the provision of Public Health Funerals and post-cremation memorialization. What is the job role?
As a Senior Burial and Estate Supervisor, having due regard for the needs of the bereaved, you will be responsible for the supervision of a Burial and Estate Supervisor and a team of cemetery operatives.
You will provide a caring and efficient burial service, a well-coordinated, planned, and effective estate and grounds maintenance service, and represent the service to a range of stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will:
1. Know the types and use of mechanical grass-cutting equipment, pedestrian mowers, and gardening equipment.
2. Be able to work to deadlines within guidelines set by the management.
3. Be able to travel to various sites throughout the city using a council vehicle.
4. Have the ability to plan, organise, prioritise, and delegate appropriately.
5. Supervise teams of people, including planning and organising work activities.
6. Work towards completing COTTS.
7. Work towards completing excavator training.
