We are seeking a Material Handling Operative to join our Peel Ports Logistics team and help keep the world moving Your role As a Material Handling Operative, you will operate the companys plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will clean company plant and equipment to include all wheeled assets and material handling equipment, ensuring that all checks, audits and other paperwork are completed accurately and on time. You proactively look for hazards, recording and actioning immediately and as safely as possible within SAP EHS. You will build and maintain strong, long lasting relationships with various external parties such as vessel crew and agents, as well as internal teams, communicating with engineering departments over fault rectification. You will ensure all health and safety rules are followed whilst adhering to TASCC regulations. This is a multi-function role in which you will be predominantly based at East Float Port, however there will be a requirement to travel to other Peel Ports Logistics sites as and when required. What you'll bring You may already be in an operational role or keen to move to your first role at this level. You will ideally have previous experience working within an industrial, bulk handling environment, with the ability to drive Loading Shovels and Skidsteer. You will have experience operating Bulk Material Handling ship unloaders, Cranes (ship and shore) with an understanding of TASCC regulations. You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload effectively and be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience with SCADA operating systems would be beneficial alongside good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office. A commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures is key. A full valid driving licence is essential for this role.
