About The Role We have an exciting opportunity to join our Logistics function here at FBC The role is predominantely based in Batley but can be flexible within locations across the North West of the UK. The Head of Logistics will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods and for the day-to-day operations of the Logistics team. This will include proactively identifying future opportunities and challenges within the logistics landscape and developing mitigation strategies when necessary. You will also be responsible for ensuring operations are running smoothly, guiding your team accordingly and encouraging motivation and morale. This role will design and lead the FBC UK Logistics strategy and ensure we have a continuous 3 year view, ensuring world class service at the best sustainable cost. Main Responsibilities Logistics: Ensure the operating management of the stock (e.g. logistics activities, customs, stock monitoring, inventory count, input of results in IT systems and warehouse quality activities) Ensure smooth logistics operations and related processes for managed Warehouses and Transportation flows. Warehouse/Transportation Management: Assures a proper inventory execution and documentation, and gives input for possible corrective actions. Manages stock level for raw materials and semi-finished goods. Develops storage operative working methods to assure an adequate raw materials and packaging materials’ stock level. Provides support in the definition and negotiation of agreements and prices for the transports needed. Guarantees the emission and management of transport service orders, in accordance with Local laws and regulations, guaranteeing costs, quality and liability defined by FBC UK guidelines. Supply Chain Development: Development of the Supply Chain functions, ensuring supply chain master plan preparation and processes continuous improvement initiatives in consistency with operations master plan pillars. Analyses SC performance being accountable of service improvement. Budgeting: Defines logistics budget / ensure minimal deviation vs actual (budget ownership). Interfaces with Region SC to align on priorities Supplier relationships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with Suppliers, managing costs and service. Leadership & direction -communicate the actions needed to implement the function’s strategy and business plan within the team. Explain the relationship to the FBC mission, vision and values. Motivate the team to do extraordinary things. Operational compliance: Ensure the Logistics adheres to all relevant legislation. Reporting: Achievement of Measures/KPIs –Design, produce and champion the FBC UK Service Level reports. Period End Reporting –compilation of period end reports for Customer Supply Chain Director and onward presentation to Board Reviews, ensuring key issues are highlighted in period commentary. Continuous Improvement program –play an active role and ensure a CI culture becomes ‘business as usual’. Projects –Identify and deliver Logistics budgeted savings through those identified projects. Customer Supply Chain Leadership Team –as a member of this team you will contribute to the strategy of the wider team, ensuring a positive culture and one where we succeed as a team Identifying opportunities to maximise Logistics efficiency and reduce cost particularly relating to customer ordering patterns and network design Cross functional collaboration –building and maintaining strong relationships with all FBC UK functions. Who We Are Looking For Strong experience within Logistics, 10 years with 8 years in management positions Relevant degree or training or demonstrable through experience Excellent analytical skills Experience from with a Supply Chain Background or FMCG would be preferred.
