GSL Education is looking for a dedicated 1:2 Tutor to join our team in Chesterfield. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working to support young learners with LAC and SEMH needs.
Job summary:
As a 1:2 Tutor, you will deliver personalized tutoring sessions designed to meet the unique needs of your students. This role involves providing educational support to two students, with a focus on those with Looked After Children (LAC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with them to support their academic progress and personal development.
As a 1:2 Tutor, your key responsibilities are to:
· Deliver effective tutoring sessions to two students, focusing on their individual learning needs.
· Develop and implement personalized learning plans for academic and emotional support of students.
· Maintain accurate records of sessions, student progress, and any issues that arise.
· Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the students to build their confidence and motivation.
As a 1:2 Tutor, essential requirements include:
· Proven experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) and students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
· Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications.
· Strong understanding of the educational and emotional needs of LAC and SEMH students.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
· A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
