S4K are on the search for individuals who are passionate about working with children and delivering a high level of service to families.
We are now recruiting for After School Club Childcare Playworkers at our various clubs across the region!
Our After School Club Childcare Playworkers are part-time, term time only, Monday to Friday from 3.00pm – 6.00pm. You will also be provided training to complete your Playworker Badge with S4K and move onto the Playworker Management Scheme where you can earn higher hourly rates. On top of this, we can offer Holiday Camp Playworker and Sports Coaching roles during the school holidays to give you consistent all year round income. We can also offer weekend work!
The role
As an After School Club Childcare Playworker, you will be responsible for assisting the After School Club Manager alongside other After School Club Childcare Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club whilst actively and enthusiastically supporting and engaging children aged 4-11.
As an integral part of the team, you will assist in the delivery of a range of playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities. Playwork is about removing barriers to play, and enriching the play environment, whilst providing a safe and secure setting for the children in your care. Enabling each child to explore, grow and have FUN!
You will also undergo training via our S4K University platform to achieve your Playworker Badge, after which you will be Assessed and able to progress onto Playworker Management Training.
Responsibilities
* Actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club
* Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and pro-actively encourage children to participate
* Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of ‘snack time’
* Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary)
* Develop strong relationships with all children at the After School Club ensuring every child has as much FUN at the club as possible
* Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & Sport4Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding
* Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day
Skills & Experience
* You will have a passion/interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting
* Have a fun and energetic nature
* Be reliable and able to effectively communicate with colleagues and children alike
* Be able to relate and engage with children aged between 4 - 11 years
* Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth & development, will be available for candidates who match our ambitions
* Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants
This role would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry.
Hours
Monday - Friday, 3.00pm – 6.00pm, term-time only (Additional hours available during holiday times and weekends.)
