Air Salvage International (ASI) is based at Cotswold Airport, Gloucestershire and is a world leader in the disassembly of commercial aircraft at the end of their economic life. The company is in its 27th year of operation, with the aim to reduce its carbon footprint always at its core.
It is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, able mechanic who wants to work as part of a team in a challenging and interesting aerospace role. The position would suit a motor mechanic, industrial service engineer or fitter who has an aptitude for learning new techniques and skills and wants a more challenging environment.
The work involves dismantling aircraft with extreme care and to the highest of standards, in line with ASI’s quality/environmental procedures and adhering to company policies to maintain safe working conditions. Engineering teams normally operate in small groups of between two and four people. These high value removed components are accurately processed by a separate team and sent away for recertification as spares for the airline industry.
Successful applicants will be required to do in-house and external training such as Human Factors, Working at Height, EWISS and Fuel Tank Safety – developing a training passport as the role progresses.
Being able to see the big picture while focussing on individual tasks is essential for this role, in addition to having good communication skills and a sense of humour. Owning a tool kit is a major advantage – though the company can assist in developing these. A uniform and all specialist tooling are provided.
