Vacancy Information
It couldn’t be a more exciting time to join Parkside School, which recently joined Wellspring Academy Trust and was awarded the title of Multi Academy Trust of the year. We are now in the second year of this exciting journey, and we are looking for a like-minded, enthusiastic staff member to join us. Wellspring Academy Trust is known for its inclusive practice, and these values are matched by Parkside School. ‘We make a difference’—if you share this philosophy, this may be the job for you.
We require a full-time Receptionist to be the front-facing administrator in our new expanded team. The role of the receptionist is crucial in a large secondary school, as it is often the first point of call for visitors, phone calls, and staff. As such, we view this role as a vital member of the admin team.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, understand the workings of the school, be competent with a phone switchboard, possess basic IT skills, and be aware of the importance of safeguarding others in this role. Experience in administration or working in a school would be an advantage but is not essential, as full induction training will be provided.
As part of the continued improvement of the school environment, the reception area is due for a total refurbishment in 2025. The successful candidate will have input into these significant upgrades to this space. This is an exciting time to join the team!
While the majority of the time will be spent working as a receptionist, there will be other general admin tasks to complete during the day to support the wider team.
We are looking for consistency in the role, so the post is full-time. However, there may be some flexibility around hours for a strong candidate. We are happy to have these discussions in advance of any applications or if called to interview.
The administration function at Parkside has been remodelled, and the capacity increased to produce a more complete service for the school. This post would be the fourth new member of staff to join the newly shaped admin team. Therefore, this is an exciting opportunity to join a team and a school on the move!
We will offer you the opportunity to:
* Be welcomed into our supportive staff team and experience our special sense of community
* Be supported in your continued professional development
* Become part of the extremely strong and supportive Wellspring Academy Trust, where there are regular opportunities to collaborate and share practice
We encourage any applicant to come and visit the school or to book an informal phone conversation about this role with the Senior Office Manager, Naz Ali, nazeefah.ali@parksideschool.net
Closing Date: 9am Monday 13th January 2025.
Interviews for successfully shortlisted candidates will be undertaken soon after this date.
Please note, we do not accept CVs.
Wellspring Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. All posts are offered subject to enhanced DBS checks. References will be requested, and an online search carried out for shortlisted candidates prior to attendance at interview. Further pre-employment checks, including prohibition from teaching, childcare disqualification, and section 128 checks, if deemed relevant for the role, will be completed for the successful candidate upon acceptance of the post.
We are committed to equal opportunities and to promoting diversity. We want our people to reflect the diversity of our communities, and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, especially from under-represented groups, including those from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities.
