Outline Scope & Purpose of Role
The Senior Sales Estimator is responsible for combining the functions of both sales and cost estimation. This role involves generating new business opportunities by engaging with prospective clients, understanding their needs, and providing them with accurate and competitive price estimates for secondary glazing. The individual in this position will work closely with both the sales team and the operations/estimating team to ensure that project quotes are accurate, comprehensive, and in alignment with client requirements. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, communication skills, and sales acumen to drive revenue growth and ensure client satisfaction.
Key Tasks
* Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that meet their specifications.
* Develop accurate cost estimates for projects, products, or services based on client requirements, material costs, labour estimates, and project timelines.
* Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients in a clear and professional manner.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, operations and BDMS to gather necessary information for pricing and estimation purposes.
* Follow up with prospective clients to answer any questions, negotiate terms, and close deals.
* Maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring they are satisfied with the product, services, and pricing provided.
* Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demands to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
* Process and track sales orders, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
* Work closely with the operations team to ensure that estimates align with the project scope and deliverables.
* Ensure all sales and estimate data is accurately entered into our CRM system and shared with relevant departments.
* Provide post-sale support, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring the delivery of products or services meets the estimated cost and timeline.
* Prepare regular sales and performance reports, providing insights on trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with Marketing to create sales materials, product information, and promotional campaigns.

* Proven experience in a sales role, with the ability to manage client relationships and close deals (3+ years preferred).

* Strong background in cost estimation or pricing analysis, with the ability to develop accurate project estimates.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and negotiate effectively.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions for both clients and internal teams.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs and processing sales orders.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Knowledge of industry-specific products, services, or materials (depending on the field).
* Strong analytical skills to assess and adjust pricing strategies based on changing market conditions.
Education and Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in a B2B sales role
* Estimating/Pricing experience would be preferred but not essential
* Experience with estimating software or tools is a plus (CAD)
Knowledge of construction standards or regulations would be beneficial
