Are you interested/passionate about education, teaching, and development of staff? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the professional lead nursing team in the BCHC Children and Families Division. You will be responsible for organising, delivering, and evaluating specialist training to a range of staff across the 0-19 clinical group and Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that staff are competent to meet the skills required for delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, mandatory training, and role-specific training needs.
2. Maintain accurate training data.
3. Utilise competency frameworks to evaluate and provide feedback on skills and knowledge development.
4. Liaise and communicate with staff to encourage the uptake of training and sign-off of competencies.
5. Organise and deliver specialist training, including theoretical training and practical demonstrations.
6. Develop and review guidance, newsletters, and training packages for health staff.
7. Advise and support 0-19 staff in developing and regularly reviewing policies and procedures.
8. Contribute to practice-related improvement plans to enable learners to achieve the required standard of proficiency.
9. Work within the NMC code of professional conduct, exercising professional accountability at all times.
10. Report any identified concerns to the Deputy Professional Lead.
11. Manage own time and prioritise workload.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Provide advice and support to 0-19 staff in developing and reviewing policies and standard operating procedures.
2. Be responsible for the clinical supervision of staff.
3. Ensure the completion of delegated work to a satisfactory standard.
4. Regularly review training in conjunction with the Group Clinical Manager and Professional Lead to ensure effectiveness and appropriateness.
5. Participate in the Trust’s clinical effectiveness and audit programmes and take part in research as appropriate.
6. Keep updated with current trends and advances within the 0-19 services.
7. Undertake individual training appropriate to the grade as identified at appraisal.
8. Be proficient with Microsoft Office.
9. Undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager.
