* Estimate process cycle times and assess their impact on equipment capacity, both for new and existing setups.
* Develop layout concepts reflecting lean principles and past learnings.
* Support the Engineering Manager in milestone activities including design reviews and build events.
* Oversee final engineering implementation, ensuring all key deliverables (cycle time, OEE, safety, etc.) are met.
* Lead improvement initiatives such as Scrap Reduction, OEE improvement, and 8D resolution.
* Drive the implementation of new equipment, automation systems, and production methodologies to enhance our clients manufacturing capabilities.
* Collaborate with equipment suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth integration and successful deployment of new technologies.
* Work closely with Quality teams to establish and uphold high-quality standards across all manufacturing processes and products.
* Implement robust quality control measures to prevent defects and non-conformities.
* Investigate root causes of quality issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
* Provide technical support to production teams, resolving issues swiftly to minimise downtime.
* Participate in cross-functional teams to address production challenges and ensure smooth operations.
* Develop and maintain essential manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and SOPs.
* Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and value stream mapping exercises.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively engaging with frontline employees and implementing their valuable feedback.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety, driving initiatives to meet and exceed targets.
Experience and Skills:
* Proven ability to track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, quality, and safety.
* Familiarity with equipment standards and a strong understanding of laser cutting/welding processes.
* Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming is desirable.
* Previous experience in defining standard automated equipment is advantageous.
What We’re Looking For:
* Enthusiastic, results-oriented, and self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
* A team player capable of building strong relationships with project teams and customers.
* Excellent communication skills across all levels, both within and outside the business.
* Ability to thrive under pressure in a demanding environment.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, with a knack for driving projects to successful completion.
