Job overview
We have an opportunity available for current band 5 Physiotherapist to progress to band 6 role at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This is a permanent, full time position.
We provide ongoing care to a broad range of patients, ranging from those who are critically unwell, to those who need minimal rehabilitation or assessment and advice.
As a band 6, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the acute Inpatient Physiotherapy Service, including patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
In return, you will be supported in your efforts to build on your previous experience to further develop your clinical competencies and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be integral to the efficient and effective running of the Physiotherapy service, and will assist the Specialty Team Lead in providing the highest standard of care to patients referred to us while also working to improve the service where needed. You will also supervise rotational physiotherapists and support them in their work, while leading the clinical education and practice of student physiotherapists and assist in department-wide training.
Often you will work without direct supervision, and as such you will responsible for managing your own caseload and the seamless transfer of physiotherapy care for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type.
Effective communication with patients, carers and all other members of the multi-disciplinary team is paramount, and you will also act as an advocate on behalf of patients for their safety and to ensure they have a positive experience.
