ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Microbiologist who has worked within a laboratory testing environment. You will have enthusiasm for science and wish to develop technically within Microbiology. The Microbiology Analyst will play an active part in ensuring the highest quality of service to clients and adherence to standards.
Skills and Qualifications
MSc or above in Microbiology or Biosciences (or equivalent experience)
Experience of working in a laboratory environment
Relevant offshore and/or industrial experience desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills
Ability to support the resolution of client issues
Excellent presentation skills, this will include delivering courses, business development presentations, and client data reviews)
IT literate specifically MS Office packages
Ability to support the development of new techniques/analyses
Flexibility with working hours
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Microbiologist, you will support the completion of microbiology testing and services to provide safe, accurate, reliable and efficient testing services to our customers. You will be required to work in a laboratory environment, routinely applying Good Laboratory Practices.
Required skills and experience:
Undertaking all relevant technical procedures and microbiological/chemical analysis
Timely production of proposals and reports
Preparing and verifying reports and test certificates
Planning offshore/onshore logistics
Liaising with the Stores team in arranging the timely shipment of offshore kit and preparing relevant paperwork
Be the authorised signatory as specified in Quality System
Assist in the training and development of offshore staff and other microbiology team members
Providing technical support to Production & Integrity Assurance, Retail and Water Hygiene business streams
Providing technical support to operations and laboratory
Undertaking consultancy projects (i.e. MIC, Souring)
Undertaking R&D projects when required
Undertaking field visits (UK and International) when necessary
Undertaking Legionella Risk Assessments
Assisting in document review for relevant procedures
Supporting Senior and Consultant Microbiologist with account management activities
Assisting in the coordination of energy operations
Issuing work proposals and procure purchase orders
