Communications Officer
We are partnering with an international animal welfare charity to find a skilled Communications Officer who will drive their press, communications, and campaigns projects forward.
This remote-based role (with occasional travel to London) requires the successful candidate to ensure the charity's work is prominently featured in the global news agenda, raising awareness and understanding, and generating income-generating activities.
The Communications Officer will be responsible for delivering local, national, and international PR, both online and offline, and will report directly to the newly appointed Head of Communications and Campaigns.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing effective PR strategies to raise awareness and understanding of the charity's work
* Managing and maintaining relationships with key media contacts and stakeholders
* Creating engaging and persuasive content for various channels, including social media, email, and the charity's website
* Monitoring and analyzing media coverage to ensure the charity's message is being effectively communicated
* Collaborating with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to develop and implement campaigns that drive income and awareness
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Communications Officer who has a strong understanding of charity communications, the UK media environment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced press or comms environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in charity communications, with a strong understanding of the sector and its challenges
* Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging and persuasive content
* Strong relationships with key media contacts and stakeholders
* Experience of working in a busy press or comms environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
* Knowledge of the UK media environment, including print, broadcast, and digital channels
We offer a competitive salary of £33,000, 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and flexible working styles. The role is full-time and permanent, with occasional travel to London required.
