First Military Recruitment are currently supporting our client in the search for a Solar Engineer. The purpose of this role is to maintain Solar plants in an optimum operating condition.
Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to all HSE procedures at all times and play an active role in risk assessment.
2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical components, inverters (i.e., thermal analysis, performance analysis), modules (i.e., thermal analysis, integrity checks), CCTV/Security Systems, Monitoring systems, Structures (i.e., bolt tightening, corrosion checks).
3. Provide comprehensive reports in line with company standards, in a prompt and diligent manner; these business-critical reports can be prepared remotely, not necessarily at site or in the office.
4. Provide electrical maintenance services for portfolio of solar farms in a specified region. This will require regular travel to sites in your allocated region.
5. On occasions you will be expected to travel to different regions to provide extra support if required.
6. Assist with the compilation of insurance and warranty claims.
7. Take full ownership of assigned sites.
8. Manage relationships local subcontractors.
Skills and Qualifications:
9. A recognised electrical qualification such as City and Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition), would be an advantage.
10. Any Inverters maintenance course would be an advantage.
11. Testing and inspection certification 2391 an advantage.
12. Electrically trained; BS7671 and Level 3 Electrical NVQ or equivalent (e.g., apprenticeship completed, IET etc)
13. Able to safely pass LV1 assessment.
14. Previous experience working as Electricians Mate.
15. Industrial PV installation maintenance experience.
16. Inverter maintenance experience.
17. High Voltage (HV) Switching experience.
18. Knowledge of network infrastructure (e.g., LAN, routers, switches).
19. Clean, full Driving Licence.
20. Working at heights is an advantage.
21. Be comfortable working in a team.
22. Good time-management and punctuality.
23. Able to work under pressure.
24. Able to prioritise workload effectively.
25. Able to work remotely without close supervision.
26. HSE awareness.
27. Being pro-active, able to work autonomously and use initiative.
28. Problem solving attitude.
29. Naturally inquisitive with strong technical understanding.
30. A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to be adaptable.
31. Passionate about renewables (highly desirable).
32. Motivated and willing to receive training and development.
33. Be comfortable in an out-door work environment.

Salary: Salary: £34,000 – £37,000 + Bonus
