We are currently seeking a time-served CNC Machine Setter Operator for our turning operations. You must be familiar with FANUC controls and able to read code.

Two-week rotating shift pattern, 38:20 hr week – early finish on a Friday:
Week 1: Mon to Thurs: 5:45 till 14:10, Fri: 5:45-11:45
Job Purpose:
As part of a multi-skilled and friendly engineering team, you will modify Fanuc programs, set up, and operate CNC Turning Machines to produce precision components to a high specification and rigorous quality standard.
Responsibilities:
* Read, edit and modify existing programmes to produce finished parts.
* Set up and operate CNC machines using Fanuc controls.
* Interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine machine setup requirements.
* Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for each job.
* Conduct quality control inspections to ensure parts meet specifications using conventional measurement techniques (micrometers/gauges/verniers), diagnose errors and correct any deviation.
* Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments for cutting conditions such as worn tooling and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
* Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimise production processes.
* Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Train other operators when required and mentor apprentices.
Requirements:
* Several years’ experience as a time-served CNC Operator/Setter with some Fanuc experience and capable of setting a variety of TURNING machines.
* Experience in producing complex components to very tight tolerances.
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision.
* Willingness to learn other machine operations with training.
* Flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern.
* Willingness to work overtime when required.
* Knowledge of metal cutting techniques and Lean principles.
* Qualified Advanced Modern Apprenticeship or recognised time-served certification.
* Other relevant training an advantage: FLT, health & safety, manual handling, Lean, 5S, etc.
