Job summary

The post holder will be passionate about working with people from diverse groups and communities in different ways. A primary function of the community engagement team is to maintain consistent communication with a diverse array of community partners, organisations, and service users. This necessitates the creation and management of various media products tailored to the needs of our communities. The post holder will have drive and work in an innovative way to reach different groups and communities. To achieve this, it is essential to have a communications officer within the team who possesses a comprehensive understanding of the preferred communication methods of our diverse communities. This role also involves active engagement within the communities themselves.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will support the delivery of the team's ambitions to engagement and inclusion. The post holder will do this as outlined below:
1. The post holder will assist in the creation, and the delivery of, the Community Engagement and patient experience Communications Plan using a range of communication channels to encourage two-way dialogue including production of a regular newsletter.
2. The post holder will be expected to build relationships with local communities and identify inspiring and appropriate approaches for communicating with our communities.
3. The post holder will support the management of our Community Partner database.
4. The post holder will bring a diversity and inclusion and community engagement perspective to the communications team.
5. Ability to work closely with different teams and to ensure that communications developed are aligned with the teams principles.
6. The post holder will support the team in developing communications including creating content such as posters, editing and proofreading.
7. The post holder will work with the project leads to deliver different projects.
8. The role will involve some evening and weekend work.
