We are recruiting a Senior Practitoner at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday) Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time Location: Tredomen This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Childrens Services Family and Friends Team. We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This post attracts a Market Supplement of £3,441 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments. Caerphilly Children’s Services have developed their Strategy aimed at reducing the numbers of children Looked After as set out by Welsh Government through establishing a Family and Friends Team who will manage those children who are subject to PCCP, Kinship Fostering arrangements and children on Special Guardianship Orders. The successful applicant will need to have experience of Social Work with children and young people. You will be responsible for assessing and reviewing the support needs of both the children and their parents/carers. You will be required to attend court to ensure the most appropriate Order is in place ie when considering revoking Care Orders or converting Care Orders to Special Guardianship Orders. You will be required to support the Team Manager in decision making and supervising staff. You must have excellent assessment skills and the ability to engage with children and their families effectively, with a focus on wellbeing and safety of the child. For the role, we ask that you have: A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification. Successfully completed the Consolidation of Practice Programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 April 2016). Up to date knowledge of current legislation and statutory regulations, research and practice in relation to the relevant service area. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
