Our client is seeking a Development Control Engineer on a contract basis to join their dynamic team. This crucial role involves providing highway and development advice to support the planning service.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the statutory consultee, providing advice and written responses on highway planning and development matters in compliance with relevant guidelines and legislation.
Preparing and managing legal agreements under the Highways Act 1980, including:
Section 38 agreements for the adoption of infrastructure.
Section 278 agreements for improvement works within the adopted highway.
Section 116 stopping up of the adopted highway to enable developments.
Providing highway advice at planning committees when required.
Managing the financial aspects of Highways Agreements.
Maintaining the authority's highway adoption records and managing street naming and numbering.
Job Requirements:
Experience in development control within the HTP sector.
Understanding of the Highways Act 1980 and relevant planning legislation.
Ability to prepare and manage legal agreements related to highway and development projects.
Knowledge of the Tees Valley Design Guide, DMRB, and Manual for Streets II.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
