We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Finance Director for Wellness Solutions at Holland & Barrett. You will be a key strategic finance business partner for leadership of Wellness Solutions and the Commercial and Science teams. This role is predominantly focused on the financial oversight and strategic development of a wellbeing app, strategic technology platforms and innovative Wellness Solutions platforms. The Finance Director- Wellness Solutions will play a key role in building financial processes in this start-up environment, ensuring financial sustainability, maximizing investments, and driving growth through data-led decision-making. They will collaborate closely with the technology, product development, and commercial teams to ensure the app's commercial success while also shaping growth strategies and managing the broader division's investment profile and cost base.
Being part of the H&B&ME leadership team means this role at the heart of the management team and contributes to the broader agenda.
The role also plays a key leadership role as a senior leader in H&B finance, and this includes being a key contributor to the functional strategy, vision and culture. The role holder will be a role model for others and support the functional development and our Finance 2.0 Transformation programme.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Processes & Scaling- Establish fit-for-purpose systems, processes, and controls to support business growth.
* Commercial Finance Business Partnering & Decision Support- Advise key leaders, influencing financial and strategic decisions for digital platforms.
* Financial Planning & Analysis- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to drive performance.
* Revenue & Monetization- Develop financial strategies for subscriptions, partnerships, and pricing.
* Data & Performance Management- Track key financial metrics, optimize user acquisition, and improve retention.
* Investment & Growth- Assess funding opportunities, partnerships, and technology investments.
* Cost & Efficiency- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.
* Risk & Compliance- Ensure financial controls, regulatory compliance, and governance.
* Stakeholder Engagement- Communicate financial performance and strategy to senior leadership and investors.
* Leadership & Development- Play a key role in shaping the finance function, supporting transformation initiatives.
This role is based in London, and is required to travel to our Nuneaton Hub and occasionally to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the offices.
The Person:
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in developing and monetising technology platforms, digital wellness propositions, or apps, ideally within a subscription or membership-based model.
* Strong expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement.
* Extensive experience in finance business partnering, providing decision support to senior leadership in a commercial setting.
* Practical knowledge of change management and transformation methodologies, ensuring smooth adoption of new financial processes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, engaging effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
* Demonstrated success in scaling a revenue-generating technology platform, ideally within health tech, digital commerce, or related industries.
* Significant experience in managing and optimizing FP&A processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
* Track record of driving measurable financial and operational improvements through strategic initiatives and process enhancements.
